Women’s Guild
Meeting Information
The Women’s Guild meets on the third Thursday of each month, beginning in September and continuing through June. All women of the parish are encouraged and invited to participate. Membership for the year is $5.
Scholarship and Donations
The Guild provides scholarships to church members who will be attending Notre Dame High School. This year, there will be two scholarship recipients. Additionally, the Guild makes donations to priests and deacons for special occasions.
Community Events and Outreach
The Guild is planning a Chili/Bean & Rice Cook-off in the fall, which will include both the English and Spanish communities of the parish.
Fundraising Activities
Throughout the year, the Guild organizes several fundraising events to support various parish projects, which are selected by the Pastor. Key fundraising events include:
- Spring and fall clothing drives
- Bake sales
- Sale of Noto’s Deli hoagie tickets during the summer, with proceeds going toward the scholarship fund
- Basket raffles, with plans to hold another raffle once enough baskets are prepared
There are also discussions underway about starting a basket-making class in the fall or winter to utilize the remaining materials from previous raffles.
Support and Service
Members of the Guild help keep the kitchen in the social hall organized and ensure the refrigerators are cleaned out as needed. They are always ready to assist with baking for parish events, decorating the church, and donating altar flowers for First Holy Communion and Confirmation ceremonies.
